There are a few online resources available for tracking stolen or missing mobile phones.One such website is trackimei.com. A visitor to the website can input an IEMEI number to be able to check whether details are available in their database. There is also a provision for reporting a stolen mobile by entering the IEMEI number, but, a number of personal details have to be provided, which some may not be interested in providing due to the loss of privacy. Also at times, a valid mobile number may be blocked if it is entered in the database and does not meet certain criteria.

Other options for persons whose mobile phone is stolen or missing is to write a complaint in various consumer forums. The mobile brands and telecom companies some time take action based on these complaints, and block the IEMEI number.
